Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Our Core Commitment

MedRebuttal was built on a single privacy principle: we do not collect, store, transmit, or access any personal information or health information you enter into this tool. Your data never leaves your device. This is not a policy aspiration — it is the technical reality of how the product is built.

What You Enter Into the Tool

To generate your appeal letter you enter personal and health-related information including your name, date of birth, member ID, insurance plan name, insurer name, claim number, dates of service and denial, your mailing address, and the appeals address from your denial notice. You may also enter optional contact information such as a phone number or email address.

All of this information is processed entirely within your browser on your own device. It is not sent to MedRebuttal's servers. It is not stored in any database. It is not accessible to MedRebuttal or any third party at any point during or after your session.

How Your Letter Is Generated

Your appeal letter is constructed in real time within your browser using the information you enter and the rebuttal content selected. When you close your browser tab or window, your session data is cleared and your letter is gone from our systems — because it was never in our systems to begin with. We have no copy of your letter, your claim details, or your personal information.

Health Information and HIPAA

MedRebuttal is not a covered entity or business associate under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and does not handle protected health information on behalf of any covered entity. Because we do not receive, store, or transmit any health information you enter into this tool, HIPAA's technical requirements do not apply to MedRebuttal's data handling. Your health information remains exclusively on your own device throughout your session.

Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., a PCI-compliant third-party payment processor. MedRebuttal does not collect, view, store, or have access to your credit card number, debit card number, bank account information, or any payment credentials. Your payment data is governed exclusively by Stripe's privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.

Cookies and Tracking

MedRebuttal does not use advertising cookies, third-party analytics tools, behavioral tracking pixels, or any technology that identifies you personally or tracks your activity across other websites. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use your visit to target you with advertising.

The tool uses your browser's sessionStorage — a temporary, local storage mechanism — to retain your letter between the payment step and the download step within a single browser session. This data is stored only on your device and is automatically cleared when you close your browser tab.

Children's Privacy

This service is intended for adults managing health insurance claims on their own behalf or on behalf of a dependent. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under the age of 18. If you are using this service on behalf of a minor dependent, you are doing so as that person's authorized representative and are responsible for the accuracy of the information entered.

Third-Party Links

This site may contain links to third-party resources such as government agencies, insurer websites, or reference materials. MedRebuttal is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party site. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external site you visit.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of this service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
